Privacy Policy — Baseline Scoreboard
Effective date: 4 September 2026
Last updated: 4 September 2026
The short version
Baseline Scoreboard keeps your games on your device. There is no account, no sign-up, and nothing you record in the app is sent to us. We do not run a server.
The one exception is buying Baseline Pro. If you open the upgrade screen or make a purchase, the purchase is handled by Apple or Google and by RevenueCat, who manage the subscription on our behalf. What they receive is described below.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
What stays on your device
All of the following is stored in a database on your device and is never transmitted anywhere:
- Games: teams, colours, scores, fouls, timeouts, and every timed action in them
- Saved rule presets, saved teams and saved training drills
- Your settings — sound, haptics, warnings and the board options
Nobody but you can read this. It is not backed up to us, and we have no way to retrieve it.
Your device's own backup service (iCloud Backup, Google's Android backup) may include the app's data, as it does for other apps. That backup is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy policy, not by ours.
What leaves your device
Purchases
The app talks to the network in one situation only: when you open the Baseline Pro screen, make a purchase, or restore a previous one.
Payment itself is handled entirely by the App Store or Google Play. We never see your card details, and we never receive your name or email address.
To keep track of whether Baseline Pro is active on your device, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription-management service acting as our processor. When you open the Baseline Pro screen or buy or restore a purchase, RevenueCat receives:
- A random identifier it generates for the installation. It is not your name, your email, your phone number, or your device's advertising identifier, and it is not linked to any account.
- The purchase receipt issued by Apple or Google, and the subscription's status
- Basic technical details: device model, operating system version, app version, and country
RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy
The app does not ask RevenueCat to collect device or advertising identifiers, and does not log in or link purchases to any identity.
If you never open the Baseline Pro screen, the app makes no network requests at all.
Sharing a game summary
If you choose to share a summary, the app writes a picture and a CSV file to your device's temporary folder and hands them to your system share sheet. You choose where they go next, such as mail, messages, a notes app or a file. We receive no copy. Your device clears the temporary files in its own time.
Casting to a television
Casting to an external display sends the scoreboard to a screen attached to your device over HDMI or AirPlay. Nothing goes over the internet, and no game data is sent to us or to anyone else.
What we do not do
- No user accounts, and no sign-up
- No analytics, telemetry, or usage measurement
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier
- No third-party tracking, and no data sold or shared with data brokers
- No crash-reporting service
- No access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, calendar, or health data — the app asks for none of these permissions
Permissions the app requests
On Android the app declares only:
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE | Required by the purchase SDK. Unused until you open the Baseline Pro screen. |
com.android.vending.BILLING | Google Play purchases. |
Keeping the screen awake during a game and the haptic feedback on the board need no permission on either platform.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages and collects nothing about anybody, so it gathers no personal information from children. Purchases go through the App Store or Google Play, where parental controls apply.
Keeping and deleting your data
Because your games live only on your device, you are in control of them:
- Discard an unfinished game from the home screen
- Delete everything by uninstalling the app; the database goes with it
The purchase record held by RevenueCat is tied to the random identifier described above and to your App Store or Google Play account. To ask about that record, or to have it deleted, contact us at the address below. Bear in mind that deleting it may remove our ability to restore a purchase you have paid for.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its processing. Almost none of this applies to Baseline Scoreboard, because we hold no personal data. The purchase record described above is the one thing that could relate to you, and requests about it go to the contact address below.
For users in the UK and EU: the only processing we carry out is what is necessary to sell you Baseline Pro and to keep it working on your device (performance of a contract). We do not process anything on the basis of consent, because we do not process anything optional.
Changes to this policy
If the app starts doing something this policy does not describe, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the "last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
Contact
Baseline Scoreboard is published by Darragh Verschoyle, a sole trader established in Ireland, and this policy is governed by Irish law.
Questions about this policy, or about data held on your device, go to support@dv.ie. There is no account to close and nothing held on a server, so most requests are answered by telling you where the data is on your own device and how to delete it: uninstalling the app removes all of it.
Baseline Scoreboard is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to FIBA, the NBA, the NCAA, or any other basketball organisation. Rule presets named after them are provided for convenience and describe publicly known timing rules only.
